So says the February 5th cover
of Fortune Magazine!
The Fortune Magazine article, by David Stipp, focuses on the possible health benefits of resveratrol, a compound found
in grapes, as well as in other foods such as peanuts, blueberries and cranberries.
Yes, resveratrol can extend the life of chubby mice and boost endurance and limit weight gain in mice. Moreover, it appears
to limit damage caused by a stroke, improve cardiovascular health, provide better lung function and reduce the growth of skin
melanomas.
It is true that light to moderate drinkers live longer than non-drinkers, but is that the work of chemicals like resveratrol?
Can this compound's powers be harnessed, or are the researchers searching for an illusory fountain of youth?
